Melbourne Victory could be set to match their club record transfer fee for the imminent sale of Mark Milligan to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli with after a deal was revived at the 11th hour.

The proposed transfer of Milligan to the Middle East is back on the table after Al-Ahli increased their transfer offer for the veteran Australian international to $1 million.
Victory are understood to be considering the new offer and sources suggest they are likely to accept it after initially rejecting a proposal from Al-Ahli earlier in the week reported to be worth $375,000.
Victory coach Kevin Muscat is eager to keep hold of the 32-year-old for the remainder of the season but it appears the million-dollar offer could prove too good to refuse for the club.
Milligan is off-contract in four months and already free to talk with other clubs to join next season. It's understood Milligan is eager to move overseas and would find it difficult turning down a lucrative offer from Saudi giants Al-Ahli, especially in the latter stages of his career.
Milligan is yet to be offered a new contract from Victory, where he is one of their marquee players.
Should Melbourne agree to sell their star player before the end of the transfer window on January 31, it will be the second time they have received a handsome transfer fee for the sale of Milligan.
UAE club Baniyas reportedly paid $1 million to Victory for the Socceroo in 2015. Milligan has played 92 games for Victory during two stints with the club, where he guided them to an A-League premiership and championship in 2015.
He previously played for Japanese club JEF United, Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, Baniyas in the UAE as well as Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets in the A-League and Northern Spirit in the former National Soccer League.
