Mayor Greg Howard said Dorset has many community members who make a different to the community.
“It is always an honour to present the awards to those residents who have displayed outstanding effort and made a significant contribution to our community,” Councillor Howard said.
“Dorset is so lucky to have so many outstanding contributors within our midst and it one of the reasons that the Dorset municipality is so resilient and has been able to survive the downturns of recent years.”
Award recipients:
Citizen of the Year went to Andrew Bennett.
Young Citizen of the Year went to Reagan Kettle.
Volunteer of the Year went to Marcus and Simone Hayward.
The Sport Award went to Scottsdale Women’s Football Team for winning the inaugural women’s Northern premiership.
Event of the Year went to the End of Summer party held by Bridport Events.
