The expo includes product demonstrations, animal exhibitions, speakers and industry experts for people eager to leave the city behind for the country – and those who already have.
Organiser and Mossvale Alpacas owner Mark Jessop said the expo aimed to increase the community’s interest and skills in small farm agriculture.
“The event targets those on a small holding or people who aspire to make the tree change,” Mr Jessop said.
The event has attracted around 5000 people in the past three years and won the Huon Valley Council Community Event of the Year for 2017.
Huon Small Farms Expo is on Sunday, March 25, at Huon Showground, Ranelagh, and entry is by gold coin donation.
