Launceston man Corey Mitchell Gesler has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Alexander Robert Friend, who was found on a road at Waverley earlier this month.

Mr Gesler, 24, appeared briefly in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He is also charged with Mr Friend’s aggravated armed robbery, to which he pleaded not guilty.
He was remanded in custody to appear in the Launceston Supreme Court in March.
Four other people have been charged alongside Mr Gesler.
Twenty-three-year-old Waverley man Sammual Clinton Wilmot, 18-year-old Jake Dougle Herlihy, of Prospect, and 25-year-old Rocherlea man Clinton Charles Wilson have all pleaded not guilty to both charges of attempted murder and aggravated armed robbery.
A 17-year-old girl from Kings Meadows has also been charged, but cannot be named for legal reasons.
