Mitchell Freeman lowered the lap record before rolling in the final of the Speedcars which was won by Luke Redpath.
Karlia Riley also ended the night after a wild roll late in the evening. All drivers escaped relatively unscathed.
The second night of racing produced some awesome heats and with weather looking ominous the decision was made to bring the 50 lap final forward to ensure that the capacity field would start the race this meant the Pole Shuffle was cancelled.
Callum Harper and Steve Jordan had equal points and Harper elected to start from the outside of the front row.
He rocketed into the lead however he was challenged on several occasions by Jordan after numerous stoppages ten laps into the journey.
Harper was able to fend him off as Darren Kane challenged Jordan before moving into second on lap 14. Behind him Queensland driver Matt Pascoe was on the move.
With a dozen laps left to run Pascoe passed Kane for second and challenged Harper. He hit the front ten laps from home only to find a caution flag and at the restart the places were resumed from the previous lap which put Harper back in front.
Harper had been under pressure at the restarts and decided to run low forcing Pascoe up high with the two running side by side on several occasions bringing the big crowd to their feet.
Pascoe pushed hard with a brilliant outside passing move and started to pull away late in the race with seven laps left to run.
It was a spirited drive from Pascoe having started from seventh he powered on to win a tough Grand Prix. Mick Nicola had driven hard for third position but couldn’t close on Harper.
The final had nine caution periods which forced the withdrawal of at least 12 entries.
Dwayne Sonners won the Tassie Sixes final from Peter Johnson and his daughter Clair Johnson.
Nick Kingston won the formula 500 final with a solid drive from Dylan Beverage who held out Marcus Kelly on the run to the flag.
The street stock final was dominated by Corey Bauld. Bauld held out Dale Riley Jr as the pair opened up a commanding lead.
