South Burnie battled hard to defeat the Port Sorell Sharks by eight shots after sharing the rinks. The win moves them into third position on the ladder, two points ahead of Ulverstone.

The Luke Richardson, Jack Butler, Geoff Todd, Mervyn Hayward rink clinched the win for South, winning 31-12 over Rod Everett.
This win covered the 33-21-shot win by the Sharks’ Luke Marshall over Alan Carver.
Up-and-coming young star Cameron Griffiths defeated the Port’s top skip Aaron Jago 25-18 to give South their second rink win. In a high scoring game Josh Marshall made a welcome return to form for the Sharks, defeating veteran Ricky Richardson 32-26.
Penguin has not given up hope of salvaging their season with a resounding 52-shot win over the Wynyard Cats.
The win by the Two Blues has brought a premature end to the Cats’ winning streak. Chris Dudman, Trevor Docking, Aaron Jones and Peter Thow led the way for the Penguin side, defeating David Groenewege 39-16.
David Osbourne was pleased to receive Julian Brown back into the fold with his 36-26-shot margin over Damien Symes, and Wayne Wriggles Willcox defeated Grant Crowe 27-17.
To top off a great day for the Two Blues Liahm O’Brien with good support from Wayne Manson, Dave Jeffrey and Harvey Clarke defeated John Neal 30-17.
For the second week in a row we have seen Burnie demonstrate their destructive powers on the bowling green with their 40-shot defeat of the Devonport Eagles. It was the second big win by the Tigers in as many weeks.
Having said that the win was achieved by the Jeremy Turner, Bruce Frith, Jake Wyllie, Trevor Carpenter rink defeating Tristan Bakes 39-9.
Penguin has not given up hope of salvaging their season ...
David Gamble also scored heavily in his game against Leon Webb, defeating the Eagles top skip 34-17. Patrick Smith and Ian Moore played a 23-shot tie.
The Eagles’ winning rink was Greg Williamson, Dean Martin, Darren Hamilton and Garry Powell who got the better of Mark Nitz 24-17.
Latrobe responded well to their shock loss last week by accounting for Ulverstone by 18 shots. The win by the Demons sees Ulverstone drop a spot to fourth position.
All games were relatively close with the biggest margin being eight shots by Phillip Mundy, Tony Maney, Michael Aherne and Mike Gaffney over Eden Moore 36-28.
Garry Courtney won 26-17 against Rocket Horton and Anthony Johns had two up his sleeve against Sam McLean. It was left to Colin Willcox, Robert Eudey, Tony Sutton and Michael Chillcott to salvage two points for the Robins by defeating Latrobe veteran Greg Douce 23-22.
The win by Latrobe has helped them get a good grip on second spot.
