Driessen took the crucial wicket of Jason Savage (62) and added three more on his way to figures of 4-28 to help restrict the Tamar Valley Tigers to 9-176 from their 40 overs.
Woods then set about taking apart Beauty Point’s bowling attack, combining with Nathan Balym to go at a run-a-ball for the first ten overs.
Adam Turner had Balym stumped for 30, but Woods would have his revenge, taking the Tigers’ sole wicket-taker for three sixes off one over as Hadspen passed the target with eight overs to spare.
Woods finished seven runs shy of a ton on 93 not out, with Hadspen captain Liam Reynolds making an unbeaten 37.
CRESSY coach Damian Whybrow fell just short of making his second century of the season in powering his side to an 11-run win over ACL.
Contributing nearly half of the Bulldogs’ 7-187, Whybrow hit four sixes in his knock of 92 before being bowled by Drew Clark (2-40) in the third last over.
Clark’s innings of 55 led the run chase for ACL but Whybrow (3-28) had his revenge to swing the momentum in favour of Cressy.
Some late hitting from Sean Barry (25 not out) brought the Bluebacks within sight of the total but it was too little, too late as his side finished on 8-176.
The win gives Cressy breathing space in second, while ACL remains in finals contention in fifth place.
