An application was made by Break O’Day Council on behalf of Forestry Tasmania to upgrade the quarry from Level One to Level Two Activity.
No site upgrades would be required as the quarry was previously established to be Level Two under former management by Forestry Tasmania.
The upgrade would mean the quarry would meet the operational requirements of producing road resheeting gravel, and the production and crushing limit would be doubled per annum.
Quarry operations would occur between February to July and would be suspended between August to January, coinciding with the wedge-tailed eagle breeding season.
Public representations can be made for the application to the Break O’Day Council until February 5.
More information can be found on the Break O’Day Council website.
