Up and down the main street, performers set up at shop fronts and pubs to sing, play and dance for the day.
Sitting close to the newsagency, Yvonne Paris and Rod Kiehne came from Newcastle in New South Wales to perform at the festival, after hearing about it at Cygnet Folk Festival.
Kiehne said folk festivals were a great way to meet other musicians and pass on knowledge and songs.
At another shop door front Kerrie Maguire and Geoff Iliff sang unaccompanied, their acapella songs covering the stories of Tasmania’s heritage.
The festival continues in George Town on Sunday.
