Just after 8am crews responded to a harvester on fire in Sheffield on the state’s North West coast.
One heavy tanker from Sheffield Fire Brigade responded to the fire, which was at a farm on Sheffield Road.
The fire was contained shortly afterwards and no injuries were reported.
The TFS are continuing to patrol vegetation fires at Campbell Town, Rocherlea, Mornington, Ravenswood and Jericho but said there are no current threats to local communities.
A total fire ban in the state’s South, North and parts of the North West was lifted at midnight, Friday following two days of extreme weather conditions.
As of Friday, the TFS had responded to and contained over 30 vegetation fires in 24 hours.
With six weeks of summer remaining, TFS Chief Officer Chris Arnol said conditions are very dry in some parts of Tasmania and it is likely there will be further days of high fire danger and total fire bans where necessary.
