Bunnings Warehouse North Launceston joined in the company’s Australia-wide Emergency Services Volunteers Barbeque.
All gold coins paid for the classic combination of white bread, sausage and onion on Saturday at the North Launceston site went to Tasmania’s State Emergency Service volunteers.
SES Northern Regional Unit manager Sue Kelder said the funds help a great deal.
“It gives us funds to give back into the teams,” she said. “It helps us get what we need.”
Bunnings managing director Michael Schneider said the Emergency Services Volunteers BBQ is a great way for locals to get involved and to show their appreciation for the “everyday heroes” and the work they carrid out on a day-to-day basis.
Mr Schneider said Bunnings thanked everyone to head to their nearest store who enjoyed a sausage and made a donation.
“It’s an opportunity for our team members and communities across the country to show support for their local volunteer emergency services," he said.
