Acting as the council’s Australia Day ambassador for 2018, Mr Zeckendorf will speak at the event about his past experiences climbing the seven tallest summits of the world.
Mr Zeckendorf reached the peak of Mount Everest in 2016.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have John Zeckendorf visiting us and speaking about his experiences, and his pride in being Australian,” Northern Midlands mayor David Downie said.
The council’s award ceremony will take place at Campbell Town’s Valentine Park between 9am and noon.
