The power has been restored the affected areas.
More than 1100 TasNetworks customers were without power in Launceston, Western Junction, Summerhill, Prospect and Prospect Vale this afternoon for a short time.
UPDATE 3.13pm:
The Launceston outage has been reduced to 178 customers.
An estimated restoration time is still yet to be advised.
TasNetworks is asking those affected to check the site after 4pm for more information.
UPDATE 2.37pm:
More than 200 customers in Launceston are without power.
The cause of the “unplanned outage” is being investigated by TasNetworks.
Customers are urged to check for a restoration time after 4pm.
The power in Summerhill, Prospect, Prospect Vale and Western Junction has been restored.
EARLIER:
More than 930 TasNetworks customers are without power due to underground cable damage.
The outage at Prospect, Prospect Vale, Summerhill and Western Junction are affected.
There is currently no estimated restoration time.
Customers are asked to check the TasNetworks site for more information after 3pm.
