A fair chuck of the field took part in the Tamar Valley junior cup earlier this week with 27 mainland golfers looking to test their luck.
Queenslanders Nicholas Scomazzon, Elvis Symlie and Lewis Hoath, South Australian Frank Vucic, Victorian Mitchell Crabbe and New South Welshman Oliver Payne will be among the contenders.
Tasmanian hopefuls include Prospect Vale’s Ryan Thomas and James Fiddian, North-West Bay’s Oscar Burrell and Tasmania’s Timothy Smith.
The boys championship also boasts Czech Republic’s Frantisek Jan Pavek and Krystof Rucka.
The girls will be competing alongside the boys for the state amateur championship with Charley Jacobs, of Glenelg Golf Club, favourite to take home the title.
However, Jacobs will face strong opposition from Tasmanians Hallie Meaburn, of Royal Hobart, and Mackenzie Wilson, of Tasmania Golf Club.
Hot conditions are expected for the two-day event, with the mercury forecast to reach 34 degrees on Friday.
Players will tee off between 7.30am-8.40am and play 36 holes both days.
