“High Treason did a fantastic job to win his heat – he’s a very hard chaser,” Medhurst said.
“Being away from Devonport since November seems to have sparked him right up and he seems have a real affinity with the place.”
Drawing box 7 for the 65th running of the Cup, Medhurst is positive about his chances.
“Our bloke has done an outstanding job to qualify and will need to repeat the effort – in this field especially you can’t afford any errors.
“There is speed drawn around him in boxes 5, 6 and 8.”
Medhurst will be chasing his fifth Devonport Cup. He first won with Blazenka’s Flyer in 1990 and most recently with Keune in 2016.
“High Treason has become more seasoned and will give 110 percent,” he said.
