The Lightning struggled for any momentum throughout its innings after deciding to bat first.
The visitors were dismissed for just 84 in the 30th over with Lucas Badcock (35) the only batsman to contribute double figures as the Force’s bowlers made life difficult.
Sam Freeman (3-4) and Artis (2-16) were the most threatening.
In reply, the North was guided home by Angus Foster (21) and James Simpson (30) in passing the required total just five wickets down.
North-West bowler Josh McConnon claimed 2-4 from his one over, while Julius Kerwin (1-12) and Johnty Devries (1-10) were also tidy.
SOUTHERN STORM-WEST was 105-runs too strong for Southern Storm-East in its round 1 match-up at NTCA No.2.
West amassed 156 batting first with Nicholas Davis top scoring with a brilliant 65, including eight fours and one six.
He had support from Zac Phair (17), Riley Higgins (14), Jack Ross (11) and Lucas Butterworth (10), while East bowlers Samuel Banks (3-13) and Liam Harris (3-31) had successful days out.
Davis backed up his half century with a three-wicket haul as Sebastian Brown picked up 4-8 for West in dismissing their Southern rivals for 51. Sam Wright was East’s best with 17.
Northern Force play Southern Storm-West in round 2 on Tuesday and the Lightning take on East.
