Esk Valley Orienteering Club is on course for a successful Summer Cup after the first race of the series went off without a hitch at the Windsor Precinct on Saturday morning.

A solid show of numbers and an even better show of enthusiasm had EVOC coach-in-residence Antonia Haga keenly anticipating the rest of the series.
“We got a few numbers, a lot of people did the long course so we had good numbers on that one,” Haga said.
“People seemed to like the courses so I’m happy with that.”
The cup continues on Sunday with another sprint race, this time at Kate Reed Reserve.
Haga said she was expecting a similar turnout for the second race of the series.
“I hope there will be about the same amount of people… a lot of people have signed up for all the races.”
The course opens at 10am and closes at noon.
Runners are asked to assemble in the Silverdome car park prior to the race getting under way.
