Organisers James Harding and Stacy File said moving the popular event to Royal Park, away from its original street location outside the Boags brewery on The Esplanade, brought Beerfest to “the perfect place”.
“I think it will be a lot more fun and a more relaxed experience, we want people to bring a picnic blanket,” Mr Harding said.
Ms File said moving to Royal Park has also meant the ‘bump-in’ process of setting up for this year’s festival has been made far easier, while ticket-holders can expect a more family-friendly, welcoming atmosphere on the banks of the river.
Mr Harding said other BeerFests in Fremantle and Melbourne were held in relaxing parklands, so bringing the Esk BeerFest to Royal Park was a chance to unify all the festivals with a similar theme.

Reducing the Launceston festival to one day was also an opportunity to increase the entertainment options and try out a few different things for the stallholders and layout.
“We’ve gone bigger on entertainment ...we’ve moved to a one day festival but in theory we’ll have the same numbers through,” Mr Harding said.
The festival’s format has grown so popular that more interstate visitors are attending every year, as people enjoy a family or friends overnight trip, particularly from Melbourne.
Tickets are still available at esk.beerfestivals.com.au and may be available at the gate on Saturday if not sold out.
