Peter Henrich was travelling the state when he was last seen in November.
The 58-year-old’s van was found in a remote car park near Poatina last week, but he was nowhere to be seen.
Police believe he may have been planning to camp in the area.
It is understood Tasmania Police officers, SES, community volunteers and helicopter resources could be involved in Saturday’s search.
Anyone with information should contact police on 131 444.
His car is a white Suzuki van with WA registration N 10992.
