Opposition Leader Rebecca White also outlined plans to facilitate a health precinct and a co-located public and private hospital set up in Launceston if elected.
“The masterplan and the successful bid to build a private hospital on the site will have to incorporate appropriate parking space,” she said.
“A Labor government will not sign off on a masterplan that does not cater for the parking requirements of staff, patients and their families.”
Health Minister Michael Ferguson said the government understood there were ongoing parking issues at the LGH.
“We are actively working on finding the best solution for all hospital users,” he said.
