His work in the powerplay.
The Englishman has failed to fire in his first season for the Hobart Hurricanes, taking just the one wicket at 114 and conceding 9.5 runs an over in his three outings.
The 25-year-old on Wednesday admitted that he was happy with his work at the death, such as when he closed out the game in Monday’s nine-run win over the Sydney Thunder.
But his bowling up-front needs some attention as he continues his return to the game after a hamstring injury.
It comes after skipper George Bailey admitted he hadn’t quite figured out where to bowl him.
“I’ve been a bit hit and miss and haven’t bowled anywhere near as well as I want to bowl in the powerplay at the start,’’ Mills said.
“I’ve always been confident and always bowled well when I come in and bowl at the death, but with power play bowling for me I look to be aggressive, but I just haven’t hit my straps as well as I would have liked to.
“I thought I felt pretty good in the practice games (after time away from the game), but as you know, when you get into the real thing, things are 10 times more magnified.
“I’m not too worried and we are playing around with a few things with when I bowl, but I’ve not come out here to bowl the easy overs.
“I still want to and still need to bowl the big overs, myself and Jofra (Archer) up top and at the end.”
Mills said Monday’s win had come after the team had a “really good chat” as a team which had “identified how we wanted to go about the game and we executed that really well”.
He was confident they could build on that win against the Adelaide Strikers at Bellerive Oval on Thursday from 7.10pm. Selectors named an unchanged squad for the match.
