TankSentry uses sensing technology to help farmers monitor water remotely, with the system going live using farm management software AgriWebb.
The system uses WiFi and LoRa (long range) radio technology to deliver data on tank, trough, dam and bore levels across the farm to a farmer’s mobile phone.
Odyssey Sensors chief executive Wayne Turner said the technology saved farmers time and money, while ensuring they were alerted to problems quickly.
“The trials have been in place since January 2017 and we’re really pleased with the results… from the data we’re transmitting across farms to the great feedback from the local Tasmanian agricultural community who recognise the need for greater water management in the current times,” Mr Turner said.
