Councillors will discuss Royal National Agricultural and Pastoral Society of Tasmania’s proposal to ensure its survival in a closed session following the ordinary meeting at 1pm.
Launceston mayor Albert van Zetten said he could not comment on closed council meetings, however a council spokesman confirmed, “an item concerning the Royal National Agricultrual and Pastoral Society of Tasmania is listed for discussion during the closed portion of Monday’s council meeting”.

Royal Launceston Show Society president Jock Gibson said the meeting was make or break for Launceston’s show.
“We are negotiating with Launceston City Council regarding Royal Launceston Show’s future,” Mr Gibson said.
