Upsets were the order of the day with the biggest one being the eight-shot win by Ulverstone over Burnie.

The Tigers have taken all before them over the past few weeks, but met their match Saturday against the Robins.
Rinks were shared but the difference between the sides was the 29-18-shot win by Rocket Horton, Josh Tyrell, Steve Aitken and Blair Fidler over David Gamble.
Sam McLean finished four in front of Danny Patmore to give the Robins their second rink win. Winners for Burnie were Mark Nitz by six over Eden Moore, and Jeremy Turner finished one up on Colin Willcox.
Unfortunately for the Robins it did not lift them up the ladder. They still sit in fourth although the win has virtually assured them of a top-four spot. Burnie still sits a game-and-a-half clear on the top rung.
In another surprise result Wynyard won their first game of the season by defeating the Port Sorell Sharks by eleven shots after sharing the rinks. The win by the Cats, although a surprise, was not totally unexpected.
As stated on several occasions they have been knocking on the door which finally opened. The big win was by Damien Symes who defeated Kraig Dann by 16 with 36-20.
This more than covered the Port’s Aaron Jago win of 29-16 over David Groenewege. Rod Everett defeated Grant Crowe 22-16 to give two rink wins to the Sharks. To seal the game for the Cats Graeme Hodgetts finished 14 in front of Paul Marshall.
While the win would be much appreciated and celebrated it does not get the Cats off the wooden spoon position.
Latrobe was made to work hard in their game against the Devonport Eagles, eventually winning by seven shots.
Very little separated the sides with the scores tied with just a few ends to play. It was the steadying hands of Anthony Johns, Callum Butler, Jason Bryan and Nick Smith who finally won the day outscoring Dean Martin on the final two ends. Johns won 26-19.
Other winners for the Demons was Greg Douce who finished 27-23 to the good of Greg Williamson, and Garry Courtney scored two more than Ian Moore winning 24-22. As has been the norm it was left to the Eagles’ Leon Webb to salvage two points.
In what was obviously a disappointing result Penguin went down by a mere two shots to South Burnie after sharing the rinks.
The loss puts them out of any chance of finishing in the top four. They are now more than two games behind the fourth-placed Ulverstone combination, and with only seven more games to go after the Christmas break, Ulverstone or South Burnie would need to fall over to allow the Two Blues in.
As the scores indicate all four rinks were relatively close with the biggest winning margin being the 26-19-shot margin by Luke Richardson over David Osbourne.
South like Ulverstone can now set their sights on having a crack at second spot on the ladder which means the double chance come finals time.
