Organised by Theatre North at the Princess and Festivale, the applications are only weeks off closing.
Attracting talents Northern Tasmanians aged 16 to 35, the finalists will perform at Festivale on February 3 in front of a panel of personalities from the arts and entertainment business.
RAW2! 2017 winner Medhanit Barratt performed at the launch of the Theatre North in November.
“For me to be able to get up there and put my own original songs out there … it was definitely a big thing for me,” Barratt said.
Barratt, who was 16-years-old for RAW2!, was part of a new wave of young talent who slipped into the line-up after the minimum age was lowered from 18 to 16.
The competition is aimed to give young people a confidence boost and an opportunity to get on stage.
Applications close on January 5 before auditions take place on January 20 at the Earl Arts Centre.
The winner’s concert will be at the Earl Arts Centre on March 10 from 7.30pm.
Performers may be considered for the 2019 Festivale line-up and other performance opportunities.
