Although they might hear singer Hanlon Innocent, 17, warming up his vocal chords before his performance on Sunday evening.
He had fond memories of the Launceston Carols by Candlelight, which he has been going to since he was a child, Innocent said.
“For me, the carols are all about the community.”
Innocent met ‘Daisy’ the seven-day-old reindeer, who has also been affectionately named ‘Prancer’, earlier in the week.
Carols coordinator Danny Gibson said ‘Daisy’ was rejected by her mother at a Tasmanian deer farm.
Her carer took her to East Launceston Primary School for show and tell, and was bombarded with questions about whether she knew Rudolph or would guide Santa’s sleigh, Mr Gibson said.
“She symbolises that all the reindeer are getting ready for Christmas.”
Unfortunately Daisy would be too busy with sleigh training to go to the carols this year, he said.
