Tasmania Police said it was called about 3pm by a business who reported a group had stolen items and left on foot.
Shortly after, police located a group who had “large quantities of stolen property in their possession”, police said.
The group was arrested for stealing and using abusive language towards police.
An 18-year-old woman was charged and bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
Three girls were also charged and will be prosecuted under the Youth Justice Act.
Tasmania Police said it had identified most of the property owners.
However, police would like to speak to any businesses that are yet to report any stealing incidents on Tuesday.
