The inquiry will look at current and future demand for health services, the adequacy of state and federal funding, and the factors that contribute to adverse patient outcomes. The inquiry will be held at Henty House in Launceston from 9.15am to 3pm.
Safer Care Victoria’s chief executive, the Launceston General Hospital’s ward 4K’s building team, the Australian Medical Association’s Doctor Stuart Day and Health Minister Michael Ferguson will address the inquiry.
In November general practitioners said an upper house inquiry into acute health will not paint a full picture, calling for an independent review into all aspects of healthcare in Tasmania.
The Examiner reporter Lucy Stone will bring you live coverage of the hearings on Tuesday.
