Sam Clifford collected his second gold on Sunday at the three-day meet in Adelaide.
The Riverside High year nine student backed up his sensational 1500m finish and new Tasmanian schools record on Saturday to cross the line first again in his prized 3000m.
Clifford, who won a 3000m national title running for Newstead Athletics Club, led the way over the distance on Sunday for the state athletes.
Tasmanians Ruby Smee and Harvey Chilcott claimed silver medals in the seven-and-a-half lap runs in their under-18 respective races.
St Patrick's College is one of three Tasmanian school athletics teams that will race on Monday in Adelaide.
The Prospect school will join two teams from Latrobe that were invited to Adelaide for the national knockout finals following success in a similar state competition.
St Patrick’s girls won with the all-schools event with 7248 points from Latrobe High School on 6116 points.
The Latrobe High boys were named the Tasmanian champions with 8871 points.
The schools knockout format offers a unique experience, focusing on a team, points-based result from individual performances.
“The team spirit, driven by both teachers of Latrobe and St Patrick’s, has added an excitement to the competition,” Athletics Tasmania’s Gabby Steele said in a statement.
“It is now great for these students that they are now invited to travel as a team and represent not only their school, but Tasmania at the national finals.”
