After four years of study, Miss Underlin put on her gown and mortarboard and graduated with a Bachelor of Education.
“This year I was fortunate enough to gain a position within the teacher intern placement program, [which] allowed me to undertake my final year of study while based full time in a Northern Tasmanian primary school,” she said.
Miss Underlin has been offered a permanent position teaching a prep/grade 1 class at the school for 2018.
She was one of nearly 2000 students who had their dedication recognised at Saturday’s town and gown.
More than 750 students marked the culmination of years of study, sacrifice and endeavour at a number of ceremonies in Launceston on Saturday.
Some graduates paraded through Launceston for the town and gown event, with proud family members watching from the side of the road.
