Taking on Queensland in the fifth-place playoff, Tasmania showed some promise before falling to a five-wicket loss to finish the 50-over competition with a 1-1-2 record. 

AFLW rookie Webb’s 96-ball knock of 77 was the shining light in her side’s innings of 144, with fellow Northerner Emma Manix-Geeves (16) the only other player to reach double figures.

Hobart-based opener Sarah Breckweg also played a steady hand as opener, seeing off 57 balls to help her side bat out 45 overs.

North-West bowler Esther Magor and New Town’s Emily Philpott both picked up two wickets to have Queensland struggling at 5-100 before the total was reached with 19 overs to spare.

Webb finished the tournament with 304 runs from 11 matches at an average of 38 – second only to Victoria’s Annabel Sutherland, daughter of Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland.

The 17-year-old also finished as Tasmania’s top bowler with seven scalps, while Riverside captain Sophie Parkin collected six.

Manix-Geeves also enjoyed an impressive tournament, notching up 193 runs at an average of 24.13, with Bonnie Davies next best on 125 runs.
