The Tasmanian Liberals have announced their candidates for the electorate of Franklin in the upcoming state election.

Incumbent Franklin MHAs Will Hodgman, Jacquie Petrusma and Nic Street will recontest their seats.

New faces Claire Chandler and Simon Duffy have also thrown their hats in the ring.

Ms Chandler is a former Tasmanian Young Liberals president, while Mr Duffy works as an advisor to Ms Petrusma.

Tasmanian Liberals state director Sam McQuestin said the party’s Franklin team was “strong”.

“Both Simon and Claire bring with them a whole range of skills and both have strong backgrounds representing their communities,” Mr McQuestin said.

“This is probably the strongest team we've ever run in Franklin.”

The election is due in March.
