Candles by Candlelight coordinator Danny Gibson said it’s the events sponsors that help make the event a reality.
“Rotary stage the event for the benefit of the Launceston community,” said Mr Gibson.
“We try really hard through sponsorship to raise funds for security, the stage, toilets, and all of the infrastructure costs,” he said, “Then we are able to use the money that comes through the gate to go to The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal.”

One such sponsor is One Agency, said Mr Gibson.
“One Agency Launceston have been involved in sponsoring Carols for the past four years, so for this organisation it’s a significant sponsorship and they put up $10,000 for the benefit of this event,” he said.
One Agency Directors Peter Harper and Josh Hart said they sponsor the event to give back to the community.
“It’s a wonderful time of year, and we’re just so happy to be associated with an event that is so well organised,” Mr Harper said.
“It’s also a landmark event in Launceston...we want to see everyone come and enjoy the meaning of Christmas, and also to celebrate with family and friends,” Mr Hart said.
“Being a family business, the event really represents our core values...for us, it really represents what One Agency is all about,” he said.
“We love being able to support and give back to the community,” said Mr Hart.
The event will take place on December 17 with City Park’s gates opening at 5pm.
Admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for children. All funds raised will go to the Empty Stocking Appeal.
