Former George Town fast bowler Gabe Bell is one of four Tasmanian players named in a 12-man Cricket Australia XI to take on England in Western Australia next week.

Bell, 22, will be joined at the WACA, Perth, for a two-day match leading into the third Ashes Test by fellow Tigers Jake Doran, Nick Buchanan and Mac Wright on December 9 and 10.

Bell has taken 15 wickets at an average of 20.80 to start the Sheffield Shield season, while Doran registered a debut hundred against South Australia last week.

Buchanan made his List-A debut for Tasmania during the domestic one-day cup, while leg-spinner Wright played five games for the CA XI in the same competition.

Tasmania tackle New South Wales in the final Shield round at Bellerive Oval on Sunday before the Big Bash League break with both Doran and Bell expected to play.
