At the Dorset Council meeting on November 20, the Community Grants Committee presented their recommendations to the council for approval.

As part of the budget for 2017/2018, the council allocated $30,000 to the Community Matching Funding Program for this financial year.

Six applications were received by the committee, and five were approved for funding.

The five organisations whose applications were approved were the Scottsdale Squash Club, the Ringarooma Swimming Pool Association, the Nabowla Community Association, the Scottsdale Golf Club, and the Dorset Men’s Shed.

The Bridport Surf Lifesaving Club’s application was considered not to be eligible.
