The auction launched on November 28 and will close at 5.30pm on December 7.
A reserve price of $250 has been set.
All funds raised will go towards four Launceston-based charities.
A goal of $60,000 has been set, which will be divided equally between the Salvation Army, City Mission, the St Vincent de Paul Society and the Launceston Benevolent Society.
The Examiner’s editor Courtney Greisbach thanked Ponting for supporting the appeal.
“We are grateful that Ricky could contribute to our appeal, which is all about supporting our community during tough times,” she said.
“The bat would make a unique Christmas present under the tree and in turn help other families during the festive season.
“We encourage cricket enthusiasts and Ponting fans to dig deep when bidding.”
