The centre was chosen as a recipient of one of the council’s community grants earlier this year.
The money was used by Goodstart to plant a community garden.
Meander Valley mayor Craig Perkins visited the centre to hand over the $2000 cheque to centre director Natasha Jarman.
“The goal [of the garden] is to equip our children, families and the wider community with knowledge and skills to influence and enhance their physical and health outcomes for life,” Ms Jarman said.
“The children have been very involved in the garden – planting seeds, watering and caring for them.”
