The Tasmania Fire Service Launceston fire truck bays were opened to the public for a brunch to start new conversations about violence on Friday.
Tasmania Fire Service Northern Regional Chief Jeff Harper started the event about five years ago, which had grown from about 30 people to close to 80 people attending.
It helped new migrants meet and speak with members of the emergency services about violence, he said.
The brunch helped to raise awareness for White Ribbon Day on November 25 and encourage people to take an oath stand up, speak up and act to prevent violence, Mr Harper said.
Tasmania Police Northern District Commander Brett Smith said it appeared more women and children were feeling empowered to report violence.
Anyone who has experienced or at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault can call the 24 hours national line on 1800 737 732.
