The former Tamar Cats and George Town level 3 high-performance boss has also spent time at North Launceston, Evandale and Perth as an assistant coach in the past decade.
“His understanding of modern coaching techniques and game plans will be invaluable in developing the young University Mowbray players and creating a cohesive and successful team,” Eagles treasurer Adrian Bott said.
Perrin will be supported by 2017 coach Anthony Viney as a senior assistant, while ex-Perth coach Tony Wilson will take charge of the reserves team along with his deputy Ji Cooley.
A meet-the-coaches event and training run will be held at University Oval on Thursday, from 6pm.
