It has been a warm week in Northern Tasmania. Since Monday, maximum daily temperatures have lingered above 27 degrees. And the heat is set to continue.
The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting Launceston will reach 31 degrees on Friday and Saturday.
Very high UV levels have also been predicted, with the bureau recommending sun protection is worn from 8.50am to 4.50pm.
Any UV rating above three means people need to protect themselves from the sun with long-sleeved clothing, sunscreen with a 30+ rating or higher, a broad-brimmed hat and sunglasses.
There will be some reprieve on Sunday with a maximum of 26 degrees predicted.
As the country enters the final days of National Skin Cancer Action Week, which runs from November 19 to 25, it is a timely reminder to slip, slop, slap.
