These improvements include a hydraulic pre-compression system, chopping cylinder and three new front attachments.
CLAAS Harvest Centre Jaguar and Greenline product manager Luke Wheeler said the new hydraulic pre-compression with intelligent control ensured consistently high chop quality.
“The two rear springs of the pre-compression rollers in the feeder housing have been replaced by hydraulic rams with pressure reservoirs,” Mr Wheeler said.
“A number of different characteristic maps automatically adjust the pre-compression force to suit different crops or changes in crop flow,” he said.
The V-MAX chopping cylinder allows the knife carriers to be adjusted for a symmetrical crop discharge during operation with a half-set of knives.
“Used in combination with the appropriate corn cracker, this new cylinder provides an additional range of chop lengths from very short with a full set of knives to very long with half the number of knives,” Mr Wheeler said.
In addition, the payload detection system ensures loaded trailers do not exceed permissible weights.
“The operator can enter the payload quantities for three different tractor-forage trailer combinations in CEBIS and then use the hotkey to select them,” Mr Wheeler said.
“When the set quantity is reached, the system gives a warning,” he said.
The Jaguar 800 series now includes the Auto Fill operator assistance system for automatic side and rear filling of trailers.
New Pick Up 300 and 380 fronts adapt to ground contours and both have improved throughput and reliability.
All Pick Up models can be equipped with a three-speed transmission to adjust crop flow, while the roller crop press improvements create more even crop flow.
Overload clutches protect the drive train, which enables operation at maximum throughput and up to three payload quantities can be saved in CEBIS.
The Direct Disc 600P paddle roller and large intake auger are suited to very short- and medium-length crops.
These improvements will be available with all 2018 machines.
