Guide Dogs Tasmania Fundraising and Marketing Manager Kate Grady said every cent counts.
“We’re hoping to raise around $35,000 today,” she said, “It costs that much to get one dog in their harness.”
That cost covers the breeding, raising, and training of at least one puppy, Ms Grady said.
“We support the local community, but now we need support from the community,” she said.
“These guide dogs not only provide support and independance to Australians, but they’re also a wonderful companion.”
“If you’ve missed out on the street appeal today, online donations are always accepted at www.guidedogstas.com.au.”
