Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot has constructed a wall separating its US and Mexican embassy models and it’ll be officially opened by a Donald Trump impersonator on Saturday.
Keeping a close eye on the opening ceremony will be former Tasmanian Senator Jacqui Lambie, who controls the ‘military’ of Lower Crackpot in her role as commander in chief.
Her main duty is to stop any international incident occouring during ‘Trump’s’ visit.
While Ms Lambie takes her responsibilities seriously, the wall and the ‘Trump’ visit is just a giant gag.
“It’ll be bloody hilarious,” Ms Lambie said.
“I need some light in my life at the moment … I’m actually really looking forward to it.”
Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot features mazes and a miniature model village and is owned by eccentric local Brian Inders.
Mr Inders said the Donald Trump and wall project was a light-hearted send-up of the US president and aligned with the world of nonsense the tourist attraction is known for.
“The whole basis of Lower Crackpot is just nonsense and fun for everyone,” he said.
“We’re just using what the real Trump has provided us to lift our game here. It’s nothing sinister.”
Mr Inders said everyone who’d seen the wall since it was constructed several months ago had loved the joke.
Impersonator ‘The Unreal Donald Trump’ will open the wall with a speech about his achievements, policies and a few jokes about local personalities.
Ms Lambie encouraged everyone to come along for the wall opening and to enjoy the relaxing escapism of Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot.
“When you walk in those gates in Tasmazia, it’s like you’re walking into a different world,” she said.
“You can walk into there and everything else seems to be on the outside.”
‘Donald Trump’ will visit Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot on Saturday, November 25 and commence his speech at 1pm. The ceremony is free but costs apply for guests wanting to explore the mazes.
