Guest speaker at the workshop was Executive Director at Foodlab Detroit Devita Davison.
“The purpose of this workshop is for those of us working in the community to come together to talk about strategies, the stories about what we’ve been doing, and how we can make change,” Ms Davison said.
“It’s a workshop for the doers, the thinkers, the movers, the shakers; people who can catalyse change.
“This is something I really hold in my heart, so I hope the folks in the room walk away with the idea that ‘the miracle is when ordinary people do extraordinary things,” Ms Davison said.

Northern Suburbs Community Centre manager Denise Delphin said the emphasis was on community.
“It came to our attention that people in our community were finding it hard to access healthy food...we have our local community gardens, lots of cooking programs, vegie boxes, and most of this is driven by our community,” she said.
Ms Davison and Ms Delphin hope the workshop will inspire attendees to help make change in their community.
