More than 1000 people browsed through a broad spectrum of replicas, which included everything from Star Wars to Hot Wheels.
Launceston Scale Model Club president Justin Lee said the sheer variety of what is displayed always drew a crowd.
“As long as a model is built to scale, then it can be included,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter whether it is as tall as me, or something miniature.
"We have previously done work with school children and also at aged care homes, so it’s something that people of all ages can take an interest in.”
Among the highlights of this year’s expo were an Armortek Late Tiger tank, which greeted patrons as they made their way in.
Weighing about 250 kilograms, the all-metal model costs $25,000 and has proportional sound and smoke.
The expo also included a scale diorama of the Western Junction fly training school of the 1930s, where a number of World War Two pilots were trained.
Fans of the detailed work will soon be able to enjoy it outside of the expo, with the piece to be displayed permanently at Launceston airport.
Mr Lee said the standard of the models stood out at this year’s expo.
“The capacity and skill level of the people who build these models is incredible,” he said.
Proceeds from the expo will be put back into the community in the form of various donations.
