A petition asking the Meander Valley Council to rescind its decision to spend $5 million on upglrades to the Westbury Recreation Ground was tabled by councillor Tanya King at November’s council meeting.

The petition, written by ex-councillor Pat Frost, garnered 487 signatures – not reaching the level needed to force a public meeting.
However, according to mayor Craig Perkins the council will likely vote on the prospect of holding a public meeting on the issue in December.
