Tasmanians and interstate visitors enjoyed a taste of the state’s top sparkling wines at the Effervescence Tasmanian Sparkling Festival on Saturday afternoon .

Organisers described The Grand Tasting event at Josef Chromy Winery as a decadent garden party like no other.
Josef Chromy Wines chief winemaker and general manager Jeremy Dineen said it helped Tasmania producers had “world-class sparkling wines”.
About 15 of the state’s top sparkling producers offered a taste of what their vineyard had to offer.
He estimated between 300 and 400 people were having sparkling picnics around the gardens or taste testing in the marquee.
All of the events had been sold out, which had been a great sign for the festival as it entered its fourth year, Mr Dineen said.
Vim Arts and Events founder Jane Forrest, whose organisation supports the festival, said about 10,000 polished glasses would be used during the festival.
Already there were ideas of expansion into different parts of the state for next year, Ms Forrest said.
Effervescence finishes on Sunday with a recovery brunch, a lunch by award winning chef Jacques Reymond and a tasting tour of the Tamar.
