The Australian Financial Review’s Fast 100 list measures companies by their average year-on-year growth over the last three financial years.
S.Group’s average yearly growth in this time clocks in at a tick under 79 per cent, with revenue totaling $4.38 million in the 2016-17 financial year.
The result is a big step-up for Tasmania’s only entrant on the list, after S.Group was rated as the 54th fastest growing Australian company in the 2016 rankings.
S.Group general manager Phil Beeston attributes strong brand awareness and market positioning for the firm’s burgeoning success.
“[Over the last three years] we’ve seen our brand grow in its recognition and people wanting to engage with us,” he said.
“We’re hungry and we’re really serious about our marketing and community engagement.”
S.Group has also grown into a multi-faceted business after its July merger with Echelon Marketing.
The merger saw Echelon’s owner Tara Howell join the new amalgamated company as director of brand and marketing, creating a new marketing consultancy division at S.Group.
In her time with the firm, S.Group’s marketing department has doubled, according to Mr Beeston.
However, he said the company does not measure its success entirely on numbers.
“We’re not driven by business and financial success – our vision is to have an impact on our communities both locally and globally.
“Our team is made up of people who are passionate about what they do and who want to make a difference in the world.”
