Mowbray (ninth) has just two wins five matches in, while the Blues (seventh) are marginally ahead with one more to their name.
Riverside captain Tom Garwood said his side’s first loss in three weeks to Latrobe was due to some poor batting having kept an in-form Demons’ side for 8-168.
“We’re going along OK but this is a big game for us,” Garwood said.
“John LeFevre is their big key wicket and they have a pretty steady bowling attack as well so our top-five batters need to bat out the 50 overs to put a good score on the board.
“Ollie Woods and Ramesh Sundra have been our key players to date.”
Eagles lost at home to Sheffield last week, which put their win-loss ratio in negative territory.
WESTBURY captain Richard Howe said his side’s five-wicket victory over Devonport has given them plenty of confidence and that they are keen to back it up with a win at home against Launceston.
Howe said paceman Jono Chapman would be drafted into the Shamrocks XI (eighth).
“We’ve been in a couple of close ones now and to win one was really good for the boys,” he said.
“We played Launceston in a T20 and they rely on Tom Gray with the new ball, their spinners do a good job and when it comes to their batting Zac Oldenholf and Tom Bennett hold the key.

“We just need to be patient and stick to our game plan like we did on the weekend and hopefully things will fall in place again.”
The Lions are ranked fourth with a 3-2 record and captain Alistair Taylor said last week’s hiccup was a good learning experience.
Taylor said Rowan Smith would replace the unavailable Luke Badham for the encounter.
“I’m pretty happy with how things have gone so far, last week was a bit disappointing but we keen to account for a pretty good Westbury team,” he said.
“Westbury are a really good all-round unit so this week will be a difficult challenge.”
