Cody James Lee, 19 of Newnham, was sentenced in the Launceston Supreme Court on Wednesday after previously pleading guilty to failing to report a killing.
Acting Justice Pierre Slicer convicted Lee and jailed him for three-and-a-half years with a non-parole period of two years and six months.
Earlier this week, acting Justice Slicer made a formal order prohibiting the publication of factual details relating to the case against Lee.
The order allowed for the publication of Lee’s sentence.
